NATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
While spring-like weather is anticipated in Western Canada, wintry conditions are expected to hang tough in eastern areas of the country. In the west, a mild and relatively dry flow off the Pacific should influence the weather pattern across British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Meanwhile frequent cold outbreaks and snow will dominate many regions of southern Ontario, southern Quebec and the Atlantic provinces. Between these two extremes, near-normal temperatures and precipitation should be evident in Manitoba, northern Ontario and northern Quebec. As we emerge from winter s grip and temperatures moderate, weather conditions will tend to fluctuate widely. As a result, changeable and occasionally inclement weather is apt to affect all portions of the country from time to time.
Prepared by meteorologist Larry Romaniuk of Weatherite Services. Forecasts should be 80 per cent accurate for your area; expect variations by a day or two due to changeable speed of weather systems.
