By Commodity News Service Canada
WINNIPEG, Nov. 29, 2018 (CNS) – The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.
Netflix Canada is planning its biggest rate hike yet. Plans will rise by C$1 to C$3 depending on which plan you have. The price hikes are affective immediately for new subscribers while existing subscribers will receive an email in the upcoming weeks notifying them of the price increase.
Icelandair Group Hf has abandoned its plan to buy low-cost rival Wow Air Hf. Conditions required for the deal to go through weren’t met. Iceland’s currency, the krona, fell about 0.9 per cent against the euro as investors worried that the failed merger is bad news for the Icelandic economy which is increasingly dependent on tourism after the bank failures a decade ago.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has accused Russia’s Vladimir Putin of wanting to annex his entire country and has called for NATO to deploy warships to a sea shared by the two countries. His Western allies have so far not offered any help with this, despite his warning of a possible invasion by Russia after Moscow seized three Ukrainian naval ships and their crews Sunday.
