Apr. 19-25: Fair but rain falls on a couple
of days in the south this week, possibly
heavy in a few areas. Temperatures vary
but end up near normal. Frost central
and north. Blustery at times. Occasional
heavier snow or rain north.

Apr. 26-May 2: Look for variable weather
and temperatures as sunny, warm days
in the upper teens interchange with wet,
cool and blustery conditions. Unsettled,
often cool in the north with some frost and
snow.

May 3-9: Mainly sunny in the south but
with rain or showers on two or three days,
chance heavy in places. Seasonal to warm.
Windy at times. Cooler north with some
rain and occasional frost.

May 10-16: Highs in the teens and at
times 20 in the south. Sunny apart from
thundershowers on a of couple days, possibly
heavy in a few areas. Cool northwest
with some rain and frost patches.

QUEBEC

Apr. 19-25: Sunny overall but rain, possibly
heavy in places, falls on two or three
unsettled, cooler days. Brisk winds create
variable temperatures. Expect a few frost
areas, mainly central and north. Mixed
rain and snow north.

Apr. 26-May 2: Pleasant and warm days
will be interrupted by wet, cool and windy
conditions. Chance of heavy precipitation.
Highs crest in the teens and at times near
20 in the south. Frost pockets central,
north.

May 3-9: Sunshine interchanges with
occasional rain, possibly heavy in places.
Windy at times. Frost threat south on one
or two nights. Cool north with occasional
rain, chance of snow and frost.

May 10-16: Fair and warm most days
aside from scattered rain or thunderstorms
on two or three days, risk heavy in some
areas. Frost threatens central areas on one
or two nights. Cool north with occasional
rain, patchy frost.

ATLANTIC PROVINCES

Apr. 19-25: Often cool this week and quite
windy with occasional rain and drizzle.
Chance of snow east. Frost patches inland.
On one or two fair, pleasant days expect
seasonal to mild temperatures.

Apr. 26-May 2: Sunny with seasonal to
occasionally mild temperatures but look
for a couple of cooler outbreaks with gusty
winds and heavier rain. Highs climb mostly
into the teens. Frost pockets.

May 3-9: Expect a few unsettled days with
rain, chance of snow, possibly heavy in
places. Windy at times. Seasonal to occasionally
mild but frost threatens inland
areas on one or two clear, cool nights.
May 10-16: Fair overall as sunshine interchanges
with rain and blustery winds.
Temperatures mainly in the teens inland,
near 20 in New Brunswick and 10 on the
coasts. Risk of frost inland.

NATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

La Nia is weakening but will continue to
exert its influence over the western half of
Canada in this period. As a result, cooler-than-
usual temperatures are likely across
British Columbia and the Prairies. In many
areas, frost will pose a threat well into May.
The cool temperatures may delay seeding
operations in a few areas. However, near
normal precipitation should accompany this
weather pattern. By contrast, a mild but
wet circulation is anticipated in the Atlantic
provinces where passing disturbances will
usher in warm surges and occasional heavy
precipitation. Between these two extremes,
a normal spring weather pattern is forecast
for Ontario and Quebec. In these provinces,
warm spells will be offset by cold intrusions,
resulting in overall near-normal temperatures.
Apart from a few heavier precipitation
events, rain and snow totals should also end
up close to normal values.
